How to do alcohol distillation by using rotary evaporator
? Alcohol as a popular solution to dilute other solvents, many researchers is troubled by how to achieve absolutely 100% purity alcohol.1. Purpose: 75% purity alcohol distillation to 100% purity alcohol.
2. Equipment: RE-52AA rotary evaporator
+ SHB-III vacuum pump
+ three tubes. -
3. Add water in rotary evaporator water bath, add 75% purity alcohol in evaporation flask, guarantee evaporation flask, collection flask and condenser,etc, are installed well.
4. Connect vacuum pump at the top of rotary evaporator’s condenser with tube. If you don’t have cooling apparatus, you could connect clod tap water in rota evaporator’s condenser to cooling. Please notice the water inlet & outlet.

5. Power on vacuum pump, ensure vacuum degree reach about 0.09.
6. Power on rotary evaporator, turn on heating button, set water bath heating temperature according to your material boiling point. Under vacuum condition, alcohol boiling point is 39℃, so we set heating temperature at 39℃, after water bath temperature reach 39℃, will automatic stop heating and keep at this constant temperature.

7. 100% purity alcohol will be collected in rota evaporator’s collection flask.
